Brightwater - The Sunshine Coast

 Plans for a future town centre in the heart of Stocklands Brightwater community are starting to take shape, including proposals for a shopping centre and tavern.

 The Brightwater Town Centre will provide the communities fast growing population with important lifestyle facilities close to home

Brightwater attracts dozens of new residents each year with its convenient location in the true heart of the Sunshine Coast.

Besides the future town centre, plans are also in place for a childcare centre, more neighbourhood parks, a regional sports field and a dedicated bus route.

Stockland regional manager for the Sunshine Coast Troy Wainwright, said master planned communities like Brightwater were designed to cater for todayÙs modern family

“The Brightwater Town Centre will become the heart of the community with surrounding developments and transport infrastructure encouraging people to live, work and play in the area,” Mr Wainwright said

“This will also contribute to an emphasis on walking, cycling and using public transport to acces the town centre”

“We envisaged that the town centre will become an active and vibrant retail hub accommodating a mix of uses.”

A new primary school is scheduled to open in 2012 to cater for Prep and year 7 students

Work is well under way on the 12-hectare lake, which will form the centrepiece of Brightwater and add a stunning new visual element to the community. The lake will be the perfect location to take a walk or simply relax with family and friends.

Mr Wainwright said Stocklands vision for Brightwater to be a reflection of true Sunshine Coast living was rapidly coming to life.

“The Brightwater Town Centre will offer modern and convenient facilities such as shops, cafes and restaurants within easy reach of hundreds of homes.” he said.
